Gonzalez's Heart

You are all great.... Mom your blog always makes me cry and laugh. Yes, I know I need a chauffeur. I do keep them busy but they do enjoy it so much. Sometimes however, I don't enjoy the constant go, go, go.

Well, today we have a good nurse and I have requested to have her all week. She said she would try to be with us. She actually requested to be his nurse all week before I had even asked her. We have had her before and liked her then as well. She helped me figure out how to get Jaden more hungry. I asked since he is always being fed by the tube, his stomach would always be content and he would choose sleep over eating. So she talked to the Cardiologists and asked them if we could feed him on demand for 8 hour time frames and then at the end of the time, feed him the rest through his tube. We will try this for a day or so and see how it goes. We fed him 2 times already by the bottle and he took 20ml the first time and 18ml the second time. Lets just hope this works and Jaden starts eating more and more and can gain some weight so they don't start talking about putting a feeding tube in his side.

Friday, Ashley is going on a field trip here in the cities with school so I am going to meet them. She will be very happy that I am there. They went on a field trip last week and was very sad that I was not able to go and drive her and some of her friends. So she will be excited to know that I will not miss this one. I will then bring her back with me to the hospital and Sal and Ethan will come later that night.

Well that is it for now. I will write later if there are any changes.

You must feel some sense of peace that you can work with the "good" nurse. I am glad she is seriously considering your suggestions, since you are the mom! Jaden's off to a good start with his new feeding schedule!

I am also glad you and Ashley can spend some mama, daughter time together. That will help her feel connnected to you mama!

YEAH!! I'm so excited because I'm also going on that field trip!! :) So I'll see you on Friday! Is there anything that I can get for you to bring with me? Just let me know.

I pray that they go to the 8 hour feeding schedule and that he will do great feeding.

Take care and God bless, Cindy

I'm glad you have such a good nurse!! That is a relief, and an answer to prayer.

I want to say a testimony to God's perfect timing, since we have had "good timing" twice now. The first time was on Friday when I decided to call you and you just "happened" to be thinking about calling me. The second time was last night when you called. It could have been a "typical" after school day at the Theis household, and I'm sure you can imagine the chaos when kids come home from school... Instead here is what it looked like: I had just spent the afternoon cleaning house. The dishes were all done, the floor swept and vacuumed, some kids were even still sleeping. There was a calmness over the whole house. Mitch had just came home and kids were busy doing chores or playing but not too loud. Mitch and I were going through the mail and chatting happily. It was during this moment of peace that you called, and the decision was quick and easy. Picking up your kids flowed so perfectly into our afternoon...it was not burdensome. Haha, I even took them to swimming class, and that surprised even me! See, God knew what the afternoon would hold, I didn't. My afternoons are rarely so peaceful. Yet He created the margin and the peace because He knew that we could use it to help someone else. I'm so thankful!

I hope it adds a smile to your day. :)
Love ya,
Steph

Hi Steph,
I am so happy to hear that the feedings are going so well. I am glad that you are happy with your nurse too. That makes a lot of differnce with how your stress level is too. Just remember that YOU are his mother and you should have A LOT to say about the care he is recieving and they should always be willing to listen to you and the way that you want things done. You are the one that has to be able to take care of him once he is home so the closer you are to a routine that you are comfortable with when it is time to go the better it is for all of you.
Have a great time on the field trip with Ashley! She is goint to e so excited!!!
The kids and I may try and come up some day during the week and we can drop off the tabs and just say HI.
Love,
Krista

Hi Stephanie,

Just wanted to share with you...this morning when I dropped off Katherine, Ashley told me that she was going to miss part of the field trip because she was going with you back to the RMH. I wasn't sure if you coming is a surprise so I didn't say anything to her. I just smiled and said "oh you get to go with mom". She was smiling ear to ear!! She loves her mommy!! :)

Hi Steph,
Ok. We are ready to see some more photos of the "super star". He is so adorable! It sounds liek things are moving ahead and even though they seem to be moving slow it is the moving part that counts.
Have good time at lunch with your Dad and have a GREAT time with Ashley tomorrow. She sounds so excited already. I don't know who put that note on from them but that we really a great thing to do.
Love to you all,

Hi Steph,
I just talked to Mom this AM and she told me about your Mom. I am so sorry to hear about that scare. Is she OK now?
I am glad that your Dad was able to get home and help out with thier business so she can rest.
How was lunch with your Dad? I bet that Jaden had changed so much since he saw him last. I ccan't imagine how much he has changed since Stacy and I were there.
Stacy and the kids and I are heading to IA Saturday to spend some time with Mom and Dad and the kids are going to help plant some flowers. They are ready to take their buckets and shovels so they can dig!
All for now.
Love,
Krista

Happy ONE MONTH birthday baby Jaden! We are all so thrilled that you are handling this all so well.

Get strong so your mommy can nurse you, and then before you know it you will be able to come home with your wonderful, loving family.
